Now, I will not lie to you guys. Raisins aren’t exactly my favorite ingredient.

The thing is, everyone else in my family really enjoys raisins, especially my soft and chewy oatmeal raisin cookies.

It seems like raisins are just one of those polarizing ingredients like nuts or cilantro.

Either you like them or you don’t. Which camp are you in?

The thing is, even though raisins aren’t my fave, I still know a good cookie when I taste one.

These chewy oatmeal raisin cookies are nothing short of scrumptious. They are so good that I’m able to overlook the raisins and just enjoy the sweet and tasty texture of this perfectly-baked cookie recipe.

This is one of my favorite cookies to bake for the kids’ school lunches. I love sending them with a little treat, but I don’t like to load their lunch with too much candy, chocolate or sugar. One of these chewy oatmeal raisin cookies hits the spot without being messy or too decadent.

If you’re still not sold on raisin cookies, don’t miss my incredible chocolate chip cookies recipe.

I love oatmeal cookies and I’ve been looking for a great, new recipe…well, I found it. The cookies are still cooling as I type this and I’ve already had two. I did skip the raisins this go around and used chocolate chips, because why not? Crissy, you hit it out of the park! Excellent cookie! My little guy and I will be having reverse dinner tonight. Happ and Blessed New Year ya’ll!

If you don’t like raisins, how about chocolate chips instead? And finely chopped pecans are a great addition! We use a coffee grinder to chop the pecans. Just watch to be sure not to grind too fine ❤️
